Ribonuclease A (RNase A) is an endoribonuclease that specifically cleaves the phosphodiester bonds between nucleotides in ribonucleic acid molecules. Widely present in cells, RNase A participates in RNA degradation and metabolism.

RNase A is used in numerous biological research applications, such as removal of RNA contaminants from DNA, structural and functional analysis of RNA. It is also widely adopted in molecular biology experiments including cDNA synthesis, RNA isolation and purification.

Note that RNase A is a highly active enzyme capable of rapidly degrading nucleic acids. Handle with caution during operation, avoid contact with nucleic acid solutions, and store under appropriate conditions.
